News April 2011 – Crossrail C510 Award BBMV consortium made up of Alpine BeMo, Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall, Vinci Construction Grande Projets have awarded Sol
Data the Crossrail monitoring contract for Liverpool Street and Whitechapel Station known as contract C510. March 2011 – Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Conference 16th and 17th March. Sol
Data sponsored this years Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Conference
at Earls Court Conference Centre. Recognising the importance of
the 2 day event, we also provided pre conference
workshop and conference speakers and was represented with an

needs. December 2010 – awarded Bond Street Station Upgrade. A Costain, Laing O'Rourke joint venture, known as CoLOR has been appointed to undertake the Bond Street Station upgrade. Following Sol
Data's successful completion of the forward monitoring, the main
contract monitoring has also been awarded to Sol Data. Bond Street station is again going to be a key station for Crossrail. November 2010 – over 100 Cyclops (robotic total station) currently working in the UK. Sol
Data are celebrating the 109th Cyclops currently working in the
UK. Many of these instruments are working in large groups,
determining absolute movements to sub millimetre accuracies and
providing data in real time. October 2010 – Sol Data win the International APAS Adventure Race.  Congratulations to Martin Beth (Group Technical Director) and Christophe Bourlart
(General Manager) for winning the APAS, 2 man, multi discipline
race involving two days of running, orienteering, sea
kayaking and cycling over a cross country course of 98km. September 2010 – ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Accreditation. It
has always been Sol Data's aim to reduce the environmental impact of
our activities to a minimum. We are delighted to have successfully
achieved ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Accreditation. August 2010 – awarded Tottenham Court Road Station Upgrade. Following
the successful completion of the forward monitoring contract at
Tottenham
Court Road, the main monitoring contract has been awarded
to Sol Data, due for completion in 2016. Tottenham Court Road is
planned to be a major station on the Crossrail alignment. July 2010 – Sol Data summer BBQ. At a secret location, somewhere in deepest darkest Kent we were blessed once again with one of the best sunshine days of the year for our annual Sol Data BBQ. The Saturday bash started
with the early birds volunteering to set up the bouncy castle,
marque and cooking area, a friendly football match (which bore
many similarities to Aussie rules) built up the appetite and
towards the evening a petanque match rounded of the perfect day. May 2010 – awarded Bond Street Station Forward Monitoring. Prior
to the planned Bond Street Station Upgrade and to provide background,
seasonal, structural and geotechnical performance data on this busy
London Underground station Sol Data have been successful in
obtaining the forward monitoring contract. Bond Street is planned to be a major station on the Crossrail alignment. January 2010 – Sol Data Move from Strength to Strength. To
provide the additional office and storage facilities necessary to
service our existing projects and the planned growth expected on future
projects, Sol Data have built additional office accommodation
and secured an additional warehouse facility, doubling our
floor area to 10,000sq ft. This allows for off the shelf stock, calibration, hire, servicing, repairs and manufacturing
capability. The North Kent
location with ‘on the door step’ M20/M25 motorway links allows easy
access to the entire country and allows us to service our offices in London, at Farringdon and Kings
Cross and at Burscough in Lancashire.
