Recent Milestones

May 2010 – awarded Bond Street Station Upgrade.
Prior to the planned Bond Street Station Upgrade and to provide background, seasonal, structural and geotechnical performance data on this busy London Underground station Sol Data have been successful in obtaining another major London Underground contract.

August 2009 – awarded Thameslink Farringdon Upgrade.
The UK's two biggest infrastructure projects Thames Link and Crossrail are planned to both meet at Farringdon Station. In order to accommodate the longer trains from Thameslink and provide greater accessibility Farringdon Station is having a major upgrade prior to the arrival of Crossrail. Sol Data  have been appointed as the monitoring specialist to provide the structural and environmental information necessary to maintain the operation of this Grade II listed structure.

June 2009 – awarded Southfields Station Step Free Access.
Sol Data have been awarded the monitoring of Southfields Station infrastructure during the works necessary to provide step free access and station upgrade.

March 2009 – awarded Heathrow Eastern Campus Terminal 2 A
The demolition of Heathrow Terminal 2 and the subsequent construction of the new Terminal means that the Piccadilly Line running tunnels, whose alignment is underneath this construction activity, requires full time monitoring to ensure that structural deformations are not excessive. Sol Data were appointed as the monitoring specialist.   

October 2008 – awarded Heathrow T5 Baggage Tunnel.
In order to provide a modern and efficient means to transport luggage between T5 and the other Terminals, a 1.8km long tunnel has been driven underneath the airport infrastructure of Heathrow. With Sol Data providing accurate real time monitoring of the Heathrow Express and the Piccadilly Line tunnels this new structure was driven within metres of these live railway tunnels during normal train operations. By developing the Worlds largest integrated baggage system Heathrow will now be able to transport over 110 million bags per year.

January 2008 – awarded Tottenham Court Road Upgrade.
Tottenham Court Road, one of the key interchange underground stations in London is planned to have an extensive upgrade as part of the London Underground initiative to improve their infrastructure and provide better access to the physically impaired. Sol Data Limited have been awarded the forward monitoring contract for this extensive structure including many listed neighbouring buildings, such as one of the first London skyscrapers, the 60's icon Centre Point..

February 2007 – awarded the ‘Shard of Glass’ Project.
The prestigious London Bridge Tower, nicknamed The Shard of Glass, monitoring package has been awarded to Sol Data Limited. Standing above London Bridge railway station it will be Europe’s tallest skyscraper at 1016 feet, it is due for completion in 2011. 

January 2007 – successfully BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accredited
As a reflection of the high importance Sol Data Limited place on continual improvement, the company has been successful with ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and BSI registration. Onwards and upwards!

November 2006 – move from strength to strength
Sol Data Limited officially relocates its head office and warehouse facilities to Kent. The new 4500sq ft facility will enable the company to provide off the shelf stock together with calibration and repair facilities. The North Kent location allows easy accessibility into London and with the ‘on the door step’ M20/M25 motorway link quick response is also possible to the rest of the country. Other offices at Kings Cross, London and Burscough, Lancashire still remain key to our operations.

January 2006 – Welcome to Gage Technique International
Sol Data Limited is proud to announce the successful merger of Gage Technique International Limited into our operations. The move reflects the confidence Sol Data Limited has in the high calibre of instrumentation and services offered to the client and will complement the professional approach Sol Data is famous for.
Gage Technique International Limited, which has been established since 1969, not only manufactures World famous vibrating wire strain gauges, but has a wealth of structural monitoring knowledge that will reinforce the experience of Sol Data Limited.
